Some bold choices there.

I could get behind those light panels in the kitchen, though!

dinkydino123 · 18/09/2022 08:22

The red carpet throughout (even in the bathroom) is all I can see.

Trulyweird1 · 18/09/2022 08:22

Not exactly restful is it ? I am willing to bet they paid someone a lot of money to do the interior design but - oh my

CosmopolitanPlease · 18/09/2022 08:22

They baked a co-ordinating cake specially! 🎂

Unfortunately that didn't save it from being a horrendous eyesore of a house. I wouldn't pay 50p for it never mind 500k+.

picklemewalnuts · 18/09/2022 08:56

I can forgive carpet in a bathroom more easily than in a kitchen!!

WingBingo · 18/09/2022 08:58

Well some one likes red!

frazzledasarock · 18/09/2022 09:03

I really like it. Would redecorate it throughout as it looks like previous owner shared my mothers decorating taste.

my MIL has carpeting in her bathroom.

but god it’s so cheap!

BitOutOfPractice · 18/09/2022 09:05

There’s even red carpet in the boiler room!

VegetablesAreMyFriends · 18/09/2022 09:06

Presumably they take the furniture with them and re-carpeting should be easy enough.
So much space for the money!!

knitnerd90 · 18/09/2022 09:07

You should see the location - it's not so cheap when you see where it is! My friend sent me this listing with the word "REDRUM" and I laughed.

CamsPaisleyCuffs · 18/09/2022 09:08

The doll on the chair would have me running for the hills 😱

Isittrueornot · 18/09/2022 09:08

Why is the carpet red?

FuzzyPuffling · 18/09/2022 12:54

135 photos? Life's too short.

mondaytosunday · 18/09/2022 13:15

An 80s travesty.

Stripedbag101 · 18/09/2022 13:17

I need to understand the life story of the family who lived there

Nowheretoogo · 18/09/2022 13:18

What the hell is closing costs?that’s expensive!

greenhousegal · 18/09/2022 13:23

I don't see any FENCES! Where is my boundary? Nope, too open to property disputes (lol).

Most houses in the US are big aren't they? Well the country is huge I suppose.

HerRoyalNotness · 18/09/2022 13:26

Nowheretoogo · 18/09/2022 13:18

What the hell is closing costs?that’s expensive!

Agent fees are 6% then there are costs for transferring the title incl state tax. Closing costs are why we’ll be stuck in our house, just too big a chunk of money to lose for the sake of a bit more living space. Not worth it for us

TrashyPanda · 18/09/2022 13:30

Wow.

i can usually look beyond decor, but this is so overpowering.

lost count of the number of dining tables there were.

Anamechangeisasgoodasarest · 18/09/2022 13:31

Isittrueornot · 18/09/2022 09:08

Why is the carpet red?

What an absurd question.

It's red because...well...that's the colour it is.

Presumably the owners chose a red carpet.

Ponderingwindow · 18/09/2022 13:39

That’s not 80s, I think it’s 50s and actually really well preserved. Not my taste at all, but the house has a good layout and looks well cared for. Basically looks like my grandma’s house on steroids, if she had more money and really, really loved red.

MrsMoastyToasty · 18/09/2022 13:44

I can imagine the Property Brothers doing a "full reno".

Ponderingwindow · 18/09/2022 13:44

Closing costs are standard. You have to pay the agent, plus the fees for all the paperwork, plus the sales tax. That plus the ability to secure a 30 year mortgage with a fixed interest rate means people need a good reason to move.

dudsville · 18/09/2022 14:20

It was built in 1990? I was having a hard time dating the decor, but this was a surprise. I admire their commitment to what they like. I liked the ceiling lamps in front of the green curtain.

FatFilledTrottyPuss · 18/09/2022 15:04

It makes me think of a dictators palace, maybe a small holiday home for someone like Sadam Hussain for example.
