DIY Kitchen

My DIY kitchen has just arrived! Kitchen fitter is booked for next week.

Maybe a silly question but is there anything I need to tell him or guide him with? Or will he know exactly what to do? It's my first time getting a new kitchen and I just want to make sure it's done perfectly!

Bump for you as I've ordered some units for the utility and wonder the same thing!

Blueberrywitch · 10/09/2022 16:51

Ours just knew what to do and he hasn’t worked with them before :)

TooMuchToDoTooLittleInclination · 10/09/2022 16:52

Did you look at your plan together before you ordered your kitchen?

donuou have a packing slip & a kitchen plan?

(which style/colour did you choose?)

I need to get in with finding a decent fitter that has availability? They're like hand crafted hens teeth around here.

Ask him.

I was thinking of printing off the online planner and giving him the itemised list that came with it, and I'll be around the whole day keeping an eye as well. He works for our contractor and so far they have been great and have assured me their fitter is excellent so fingers crossed!

@TooMuchToDoTooLittleInclination hes contracted by our builders who say he's very good so I'm hoping it will be okay.

I got a white Helmsley kitchen! I'm so so excited, my old kitchen was in ruins (came with the house) and I can't believe I will have a shiny new one soon!

That is really good to know!

we gave ours the plan and left ours to do what he needed to and if he had any questions he came and asked us fitters generally know what they are doing and DIy kitchens come ready assembled which makes it simpler

Unpack it all, place it where it it needs to go and make sure there's nothing missing or broken. Check every inch!

We had our DIY Kitchen installed last year as part of a bigger extension project. Our fitter was fab, and only needed the plan and the list of units/trim pieces etc and got on with it. He only had good things to say about getting it fitted, and thought the quality was on par with Howdens. A year on, and our kitchen still looks great 🙂

@JolieJ

very exciting!! I'm sure it'll work out fine & look lovely!!

He will prob do this anyway, but get him to check the list of delivery against what is sat there...there can be bits missing...would do it yourself if confidence enough as gets you time to have them delivered
