Flooded cellar

Hello! Had a bit of a disaster where the water company flooded my cellar (and neighbours' from mine) overnight - no question it is water company's fault.

They've been out and the water is no longer flooding in, my cellar is draining, neighbours' cellars are draining but slower.

I had nothing in my cellar, but have been told to ring on Monday for damages. Am I being naive? As far as I can see, cellar was wet and now just needs to dry, but do I need to actively be drying it out (somehow as there's no power???)

Water company were escalating it to be pumped out and I need to chase them on this, but not sure how I will know if there's been damage or not?!
