We want to add another storey to our bungalow but not sure where to start. I know we'll need planning permission, an architect and a structural surveyor but who do I approach first? (I'm guessing architect, surveyor then council?!). Am I forgetting anyone? We have a lot of contacts in the trades so quotes won't be a problem once we know what our options are.
Do I have to spend a fortune to find out if it's even possible/within budget?
