Cost of new pvcu windows

Has anyone had windows recently?

I have had two quotes for 8 windows (simple, not large or bay), French doors, backdoor and composite door on a 3 bed semi.

It's a lot more than I expected and double from the quote I received a year ago!

If anyone has had similar, would they mind sharing a rough cost?

I've been quoted £10k. These are family run, local companies as opposed to big national ones. I thought prices would go up, but honestly expected to be paying closer to £7.

Our windows ( various sizes) we’re about 1k each (evolution) solididor composite door 1.5k and 1 set of origin aluminium French doors 2.4k. We still have others to do but that’s a rough cost.

Thank you. Maybe the new quotes aren't that far off then ☹️. The front door was for a solidor one but the French door and all windows etc were bog standard pvcu. I had a quote a year ago for £5.5k.

Anyone else? South Midlands area if that makes much of a difference.

Just had ours replaced - 6 windows of varying sizes/openings (no bay windows) and French doors. Paid just over £7k. We're in the south east. Local firm.

just had ours done - Solidor door + side panel , a small back door and 10 windows varying sizes . We upgraded to triple glazing , but the quote for double glazing was approx £ 9- 10 ,000. Local firm , did a fabulous job .
