Missing windows!

Hi,

I am buying a new build, under shared ownership, so 50% owned at first. I went to see the house last night, and there are two missing windows when compared to the floor plan. Lounge and bathroom side windows. Where do I stand legally - I havent exchanged yet, only put the deposit down. Yes its not the biggest problem, but it feels wrong that I bought a house thinking it looked one way, and its not what matches the plans.

Could I use this as leverage to change flooring to something Id like (with SO you get what you are given)

thanks

Absolutely kick off if you're sure they were in the plans. Windows are expensive for builders to put in, if they've robbed you out then I'd definitely expecting compensation or something substantial in return.

Is it something as simple as not being given the correct plans in the first place?

We reserved on our newbuild early 21 and moved in earlier this year. The layout of the house differed in detail to earlier plots and when the later plots come online we can see that there are yet more changes (including windows).
The one thing I do know though is that when you have exchanged they can't make changes, as you haven't reach that stage yet maybe that is why it has happened?

I was going off the floor plans from
when I put the deposit down. Waiting to hear from my solicitor

When we were viewing the showhouse there were signs & floorplans placed in various locations stating differences in the layout (some quite significant which in some ways made the showhouse irrelevant).
The same showhouse is still in use yet layouts have changed again.

Wait to see what your solicitor says.

Does the bathroom still have a window?

Were they actual plans for the plot or indicative of that style? The planning permission documents online should show what is permitted to be built, including window positions.
