Bathroom

Found somebody local willing to fit next month.

Big question, where to buy? Need bath, shower, wc, basin.

It's a minefield, all companies mixed reviews. Want to do it once and finished.

Any experiences? Highly rate - avoid at all costs?

What about using somewhere like Wickes or B&Q to do it all?

We're in the process of having a new bathroom fitted, although we are doing the majority of it ourselves.

I bought most of the bits from Victorian Plumbing ( bath, sink, radiator, loo) as a suite. It came to just under £1000. We've gone for a traditional style as our house is Edwardian.

The shower unit was separate.. also from VP. All good so far.

Flooring we had fitted from Harvey Maria.

Other bits came from Bathstore and Amazon.

We got ours done last year. I got bath, shower, taps, two in one sink/toilet from Victorian plumbing. Radiator was from eBay. Wall tiles from crown tiles. We got towel rails, hooks and storage racks from Amazon as we wanted the command ones.

All in it came to less than £1000 and not had any issues with any of it

My bathroom and toilet are in separate rooms. I had the toilet room refurbished first - toilet was from B&Q and flooring from Wickes. I found a local builder who had good reviews to install it. Bathroom was next and this time I chose a local bathroom company with good reviews who gave me their brochure to look through and select what I wanted. The only exception was the electric shower which I bought from the Triton range at Toolstation.

Bath store are good, so are Wholesale Domestic. Cheaper than Wickes etc but for branded products. They deliver to you so you may have to cram things into the garage until they are fitted.
