I looked at a house for sale in Great Malvern. It’s in the Wells Road/Holywell Road area. The garden is steeply terraced. The vendor says the top part of the garden loses the sun at midday. There’s a side patio which keeps the sun til late pm (in summer). Does anyone have experience of living in this area and did they find the lack of light depressing? Also I was wondering about trying to re-terrace the garden: has anyone got experience of doing this in this area? I was concerned that the granite rock in this region would make any kind of digging difficult and expensive. Lastly should I be worried about surface water shooting down the hill causing flooding to the property?
