North Kent Coast

Where to live?
Relocating from SW London..
We love Deal but we'd prefer North Kent, not keen on Margate at all.
We like Herne Bay, Broadstairs, and possibly Ramsgate but not visited yet?
Will need to commute 1 day a week and need good schools!

I think if you don't like Margate, you probably won't like Ramsgate.
What about Whitstable or Birchington?

@SherwoodForest Thank you - I think Whitstable and Birchington may be out of our price range (550/600k ish) but I will check them out

Westgate-On-Sea is near Birchington but used to be cheaper (no idea now!).

Do you have kids? Herne Bay doesn't offer much for kids (or adults) really, and buses to Canterbury for them socialising are being cut right back. I'm staying with family here atm and it's been an absolute arse getting around by public transport.

@Sparklfairy Thanks, We do have kids, but about 10 years away from them being allowed out without us lol!

I'm visiting the area (not looking to buy but I am from SW London!). I don't think you would like Ramsgate. Broadstairs is nice although personally I wouldn't choose to live there.

What about Canterbury itself? We stayed there at the weekend and it was nice - lots of local amenities and feels like there are a few things going on (i.e. it's not purely a tourist destination). It is quite close to the coast too.
