Ok so I want to remove the wall between the kitchen and dining room. It is solid but isn't load bearing.
My issue is that all the walls in the house are solid. Therefore we want to put a support beam in place anyway. One of our children has additional needs so keeping the solid walls upstairs is important.
We're having the bathroom done soon and I was wondering if support could be put in place through the floor since the wall I want to take down is in the middle of the bathroom. Is this possible or is it too difficult from that angle?
Also as it's not a supporting wall, are we ok to put any kind of support beam in place or would it have to be a certain type?
We're not quite ready to take the wall down yet but I like to plan hence asking if the support could be put into place while doing other work to make taking the wall down easier when we're ready.
Thanks for any advice
