Terminally Ill and neighbour's are abusive

I’m 34 and really struggling with my health. My neighbour’s have taken advantage of me being bed bound and have knocked my my garage down, persistently swing my drive way gate open, started using my drive way (large vans) and are so so aggressive. The police have been called out a number of times and they have been Cautioned for criminal damage, racism and disability abuse pending investigation. Then the wife thought it would be funny to get enforcement to ticket my carers car and district nurse. The council has now sent out a blanket email to all departments to ignore calls from this ‘neighbour’ as they do not own the driveway or land. This has not stopped them, the husband has walked into my house and films me and the wife is the same. It’s making my life hell. We have owned our home Since the early 80’s and they moved in 2 years ago. Before I went to the police I asked the neighbour’s on the street to mediate but they couldn’t reason with them. I cannot believe they are pharmacists and are acting so disgusting. They have no regards for the party wall act or any laws. All the police keep saying is collect evidence, which I have but nothing has progressed. What else can I do?

Eh? What a strange piece of advice.

OP do you have camera's inside/outside of your house? If not I would invest in some. This sounds so awful and stressful for you.

bestbefore · 30/08/2022 06:34

Awful, would your MP help make the police take it more seriously?
What horrid people

ivykaty44 · 30/08/2022 06:43

Go to MSM

get cameras to film them and hand it over to the press

contact their pharmacy head office with the video of the behaviour

Hesma · 30/08/2022 06:50

I don’t know what to say but just wanted to give you a virtual hug… that really is unbelievable behaviour 😠

Allmarbleslost · 30/08/2022 06:51

Can you not arrange for your front door and gate to be kept locked so they can't access your house or driveway?

I imagine there's something you can raise with their employers or governing body.

100% this, maybe a threat to their livelihood would make them reflect on their shitty behaviour!!!!

Everydayyall · 30/08/2022 07:51

Ask a solicitor to send them a letter, outlining the laws they have broken. This can be used as evidence to prosecute them. You need legal help. You will need to drive a prosecution.

snowflakeinastorm · 30/08/2022 15:12

How have they got away with knocking down your garage? Why haven’t the police charged them? They sound awful neighbours. I agree, cameras need installing to catch them out.

Sitdowncupoftea · 30/08/2022 17:46

Firstly you need a ring camera or something similar. Phone the citizens advice for free advice then the council and the police. Keep a log of it. Do any other neighbours have any cctv or have witnessed these incidents.

FurierTransform · 30/08/2022 17:49

There must be more to this story - walking Into your house to film you? Knocking down your garage?? None of this makes any sense. If that really is it, go straight to the Daily Mail, it will be front page.

How did they walk in the house?

He just walked passed me after through my porch and into my hall and through my porch into my house and threw a passive aggressive letter saying my carer is blocking his drive. Which the council have said he doesn’t have a drive because he hasn’t paid for a dropped curb.

Apparently knocking my garage down is ‘civil’ breaking my gate is ‘civil’ - I called the police again and the officer said on the phone this is ridiculous so they are coming out to take another statement as he said it’s criminal damage and harassment.

I have nearly a years worth of cctv of them. Photos and video recordings of the vile behaviour and words but still the police haven’t acted. The Councillor, neighbourhood police, and neighbourhood watch all tried to keep the neighbours and still nothing has progressed is just got worse.

I have cctv, photos and a witness that went in and gave a statement but apparently the police still think this is a “civil” case.

Lubb · 01/09/2022 00:54

I’ve done this. Still no progress.

Rollercoaster1920 · 01/09/2022 00:55

Launch a civil case against them for the damages (cost) of demolition of your garage. Invest in a secure fence and gate.

They sound like bullies. You need to stand up to them via legal routes.

Lubb · 01/09/2022 00:55

I genuinely would love to name and shame but I’m worried about further backlash.

They were under the impression they bought a house with a shared drive but it isn’t. The bricks on the drive are one obvious sign but the fact my garage sits on the end of MY Drive is the other. The local authority has told them and they still don’t understand. They build a building on the back of the garden to rent out illegally and wanted my drive for access.the built a small door . The council has told them to knock the building down. Furthermore it’s on the deeds and council documents but they keep arguing about lines on the land registry. The police and council have explained this isn’t accurate it’s a ‘rough’ drawing and the deed states I own the land.

Sitdowncupoftea · 01/09/2022 15:08

I think the only option for you is to tackle it head on. Get a legal letter sent to them copy council and land registry in it and go to the police station in person. Log a complaint on the grounds they are doing nothing.

Dasheen · 01/09/2022 15:41

You can’t let them get away with this.
