Is it possible to buy a house/ flat in Birmingham in a decent area on a wage of 25000?

Depends if there is a big deposit and how nice the area needs to be? Maybe a flat? the prices have gone a bit bonkers really.

Probably going to be challenging. It depends what YOU mean by decent area and how much deposit you've got. Despite a decent-ish deposit & wage my DD has looked and can't find what she wants without a whacking mortgage = costly repayment so she is staying in her rented property.

Everything in Brum has doubled in value over the last 10 years. I just sold my 3 bed terrace in Erdington for just shy if 300k when I paid 146 in 2014. My friend in Harborne sold a detached boxy 3 bed 60s in Harborne for 500k having paid 250k in 2012.
I would say no if you are lookjng in the more desirable parts like Harborne/Edgbaston/Sutton Coldfield/Moseley. Typical 3 bed larger terraces/semis in these areas now going for 400-500k plus I believe. Though there are bargains to be had if you have a good deposit.
