Integrated or freestanding oven?

We had a freestanding cooker (double oven and hob) at our last house, bought deliberately so we could slot it into our new kitchen there. Had intended to have the same at our new house but now looking at kitchen planning and wondering whether an integrated hob and oven would be better?

Any pros and cons of either? It would be more streamlined and no gap for crumbs to fall down with integrated? We don't like integrated appliances otherwise so would have freestanding fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine stc.

we went for a freestanding cooker as the hob that was here took up a chunk of the worktop was electric ( I prefer gas) and spatters went straight onto the worktop and the integrated cooker that was here blew the electrics when i tried it to see if it worked

Integrated oven, and at a higher level so sperate from the hob. So much easier for getting things in and out and for checking how food is doing.

Thank you, those are interesting. I'd forgotten we'd had an oven in a tower(?) unit when I was a kid - it was really easy to use as higher up so no bending down to it.

I'd always go freestanding. Built in ovens are slightly narrower to allow for the housing. I've had some oven trays that I couldn't fit in a built in oven. Also if you have oven in a tall cabinet and then separate hob you love double the workspace.

Freestanding do get Ming behind/underneath them but the deciding factor for me is the bending down to the oven-no thanks! I have 2 ovens in a tower and a 90cm job. The only work space I actually use for cooking/prepping is about 80cm so not really worried about worktop space-that just get covered in crap.
