DH and I looking to move from South Midlands to Liverpool. DH has a great job offer there and I am fortunate to be able to transfer my job. We’ve visited a few times and love the city. He needs access to central Liverpool. I will need to travel round Merseyside. We both drive but are happy to travel by public transport where available. We have a 2 year old and are hoping for one more. Top budget would be £475K. Really want a decent garden as it’s DH’s passion. We’ve heard good things about Crosby and South Liverpool but I would love recommendations! Thanks.

Crosby and Formby

Some houses with large gardens in Southport, especially Birkdale/Ainsdale area. If you need to be closer to the motorway, maybe Ormskirk, Aughton or Burscough.

We live in Crosby, I really love it. We moved up from the Midlands, though we have previously lived in south Liverpool. You get bigger gardens in Crosby than south of the city, on the whole - we bought our house particularly for the big garden. It's great being close to the coast and also to more rural areas/farmland, but still less than 20 minutes on the train from the city centre. We have small children, and there are some great primary schools and lots of families.

I'd potentially also consider Maghull (train into Liverpool and good motorway links). Maybe also some parts of L12. You'll get more house/garden for your money than south Liverpool.

I would also recommend Crosby, by the beach, good schools, nice bars /restaurants

Formby hightown, ainsdale, maghull lydiate.

Have a look round ormskirk area too. Close enough to commute but lovely market town too.

Aigburth, Allerton, Woolton, Hale Village. Hale Village is actually just into Cheshire ( Halton), but considered also to be South Liverpool IFYSWIM.
Plenty of big gardens in South Liverpool, not just Crosby !

Crosby is lovely, near the beach, nice restaurants.
South Liverpool also lovely.
lots of parks, outside space. Excellent transport,
also lots of restaurants.
South Liverpool look around L18, L25
