Relatively light hearted but my word...so many issues trying to move towards exchange and if all the stars line up and pigs grow some wings there is a fighting chance we might exchange this week.

Of course we might not. For all the reasons we couldn't exchange last week.

But it's a Monday morning and so far I am feeling hopeful - positive vibes welcomed over here!!

Good luck. It can seem an eternity when you're waiting to exchange, but if all goes well things can then start to move so fast you forget the previous pain!

I’m livid. Our vendor is top of the chain and said they’ll wait for us, but we need to put our house on the market again ASAP - but if we get a lower offer than previously then we won’t be able to afford the house and then we’ll lose it

Good luck! I think it was the fifth attempt we managed to exchange but we did get there in the end!

Sorry to hear that - this is what I am worried about - it all falling through. Very short chain here but here having to get a lenders consent at the last minute and it all feels very wobbly.

I am finding it really hard to get anything done - at work or around the house. Just sitting here waiting to hear and feeling like I can't get on with my life. All rather dramatic I know but it's how I feel!

Good luck OP. My vendor pulled out of the house I was buying after 3 months silence last week so yes, I feel your frustration.

I feel your pain… we’ve been promised to exchange for months now, every week they were saying everything is in place and we are nearly there. Our buyer has been messing us around for 6 months now and enough is enough. Today when we heard there were more delays (something to do with Land Registry which could easily take months to resolve!!!!) we decided to re-list the house. It’s going to be a nightmare as half of the house is packed and boxes are everywhere… Very frustrated and annoyed, thinking we will end up loosing our purchase too as it’s chain feee and the vendor has been very patient for all these months and I feel really bad by letting her down every time there are more delays.

Keep the faith, we also had over a week of being told we were exchanging deffo tomorrow. We eventually exchanged on Friday and move on Wednesday!

I really feel your pain this was me last week, i'd totally lost the plot with the whole thing, after a lot of stressing and pushing we finally got over the line and exchanged on Tuesday and we complete tomorrow. (It's been a very busy week of packing and cleaning!). Good luck hope you get there.

I sent my solicitor an email yesterday morning asking to find out why contracts haven't been exchanged by the end of this week. As I don't understand why it hasn't happened yet. I asked for a full rationale, I keep getting the buyer is very relaxed about the sale 😮‍💨

We were supposed to have exchanged last Friday. Everyone agreed, then didn’t hear a word from someone lower in the chain all day - ignoring solicitors and estate agents.
Monday and yesterday the same until late when they said they’re waiting for a piece of paperwork. Why they didn’t say on Friday?!? The communication throughout this whole process is absolutely mind boggling!! And stressful.

So just sent my solicitor an email to say hope we manage to exchange today as planned, so she's on holiday till 23rd 🤣😮‍💨🤯 can't believe it!

We are hoping to exchange today too, only thing currently holding it up is agreeing a completion date. We thought we had it sorted until one part of the chain changed their minds yesterday and are now pushing for a later week, which i know our vendors are not going to agree too..Gahhh

Another obstacle thrown at us at the last minute mean there are now issues with both our sale and purchase losing hope over here. Not a chance it will be this week and probably not for at least another week or so...

Really want that sorted feeling of exchange so we can buy boxes and I can finally let myself google expensive furniture and furnishings I could never afford to buy...

Not a sniff of exchange over here. It's a mythical event that will never happen. I will be selling this house and trying to buy the new house for the rest of my life...

7th October, our new build isn't ready till end of November earliest, started off being September..... so next week it's sorting out where we live 😬

@doobedooboom I had a post on here just yesterday lamenting the same except our vendor said they'd pull out if we didn't exchange on the day. Of course, our buyer's solicitors went into radio silence mode and no one knew what was happening. Our buyer is currently abroad in a different time zone so getting hold of her was impossible too. Lots and lots of lots of hurdles later, we managed to push an exchange through at close of business. It's absolute torture but like childbirth- nothing- the pain, uncertainty, etc.- matters afterwards. Hang on in there.
