Any electricians around?

I need some advice before I broach my electrician.

I have had a toilet built in our attic conversion. The original plan was to have a shower but we didn't have the space in the end. Despite that, our electrician fitted an extractor fan when installing the downlights. No problem since I'd just not use it if it wasn't necessary, BUT there's no isolator switch for some reason, so when the lights go on, the fan goes on.

Also, I've spent £100 on a mirror with build in LED's that my DC can leave on as a night light for when they use the loo at night. Except, in order for the wall mirror to work, the lights have to be on, which in turn, sets the fan off.

So, my mirror is a bit pointless really. I could have bought a £10 mirror from Ikea.

My question is, can this be easily rectified? We're on the verge of moving in and the electrician thinks he's nearly done and dusted!

Just ask him- he knows the wiring, even a qualified electrician here won't. It may not be much of a job to change it. When we have had major rewiring done, sometimes they have come to us with options they have thought of for doing things differently as they worked. If you have a good working relationship with them it ought not to be too annoying for them if you ask if a change is possible, unless it requires rechannelling cables into plaster or something like that. It's odd to me that the fan has no isolator, but I'm not an electrician.
