I'm needing to move to Brighton and Hove area for family and really struggling to find anywhere I love, can anyone help me?
At the moment I'm renting near Chelsea in London, I love the big beautiful parks (green space is very important) and houses in the area and it's somewhere I feel inspired by. When I'm walking around Brighton it just feels a bit dirty and neglected. Of course I know it's not Chelsea, but I've lived in lots of other cities and it feels like the council here doesn't really put that much effort..I don't want it to come across as I'm being snobby as that's not the case at all, I just feel like I must be missing something and was wondering if you could help.
Things that are important to me:
- a safe area for my daughter (currently one)
- green spaces
- things to do (somewhere you'd expect to see a Gails, sweaty Betty, hot yoga studio etc)
Areas I've looked at:
- Kemptown - didn't feel very safe
- Fiveways - I thought this could be a winner but felt like it was in the middle or nowhere (am I missing something here)
- Preston park - the park was a real draw but day to day feels like I'd have to get the bus anywhere which would add up
- Aldrington - felt quite slow paced for us
- Palmeria sq - the area I liked most but out of our budget..
Does anyone have any ideas on where else I could look? I'm thinking Hove might be best but any roads I can look up?
Thank you!
