Cold feet before exchange

Is this normal? I don't remember feeling this when we moved last time.

We're taking on a huge project that is also top of budget, significantly increasing our mortgage, so will be a few years until it's done.

I'm getting really nervous as we get closer to exchange with the cost of everything going up. My husband is so excited about it and I trust him completely and hate being the downer about this. Is it just normal nerves? He said we can pull out if I want but that just seems ridiculous.

Probably normal nerves. We pulled out of one purchase because I had a panic attack about the size of the mortgage we were taking out as DH's job became a bit uncertain. It would actually have been fine but we weren't to know that.

This house we are in now - big project, semi detached so I wondered about saleability, were we going to take it above ceiling price for street??

We've done the work, it's worked out really well, and the reasons we bought the house still stand. Off street parking, garage, location, garden, size of rooms, the extension and loft conversion potential.

Mortgage rates are still low at the moment. And we still love the house which was both our initial reaction when we walked in - and it was a bit of a wreck.

So, basically if there are good reasons you chose it - this is just nerves.
