My son has blocked the bathroom sink

Hey everyone! I really need some help or tips to unblock my bathroom sink! My 3 year old son decided to pour my jewellery making beads down the plug hole and now it’s totally blocked.
i scooped out as much as I could but I can’t reach down far enough to get them all out.
My landlord was meant to have repaired the sinks plug hole ages ago but of course it hasn’t been done yet so at the moment the hole is completely open which is an issue when there’s a young child in the house who is going through a phase of putting things where they shouldn’t.
How on earth do I get the rest of the beads out?? I’ve tried everything I can think of even using the vacuum cleaner to try and suck them up.
I’ve searched for help online and it looks like the best thing to do is open up the trap underneath but my sink is boxed in so I can’t access the pipes at all. Any idea?

I'd phone a plaimber get them to come out and dismantle and put together again.

What floor do you live on? If ground floor we accessed a blocked pipe from the outside where it went into the drain - you can often push something up the pipe. It is possible that the beads have got caught on top of some general sludge rather than it just being the beads.

It must be possible to remove the boxing around the trap?

a strong magnet might bring up aa good amount of it! the hardware store usually carries some on extending wires... or your local sporting supply store might carry them

Can you unravel a wire coat hanger and see if wiggling that around might dislodge a few more for you to be able to scoop up?

This sink unlocked is cheap as chips and could be worth a punt www.screwfix.com/p/sink-bath-unblocker-125mm/13894
it creates a vacuum and force stuff out the overflow.

(unblocker, not unlocked!)

Thanks for all the helpful hints. I’ve been able to unblock it…miraculously!

It sounds really odd but I went into my garden and found a long thin bendy stick. It worked wonders!!!

Putting a high up lock on the outside of the bathroom door tomorrow so this never happens again!! Cheers everyone x
