Areas/Streets to live in Canterbury

We've kind of settled on Canterbury as a place to relocate to. I've looked at some old threads but would be very grateful to know about good areas to live in.
Looking for a house, minimum 3 bedrooms, garden, about 20 mins walk to Canterbury West Station. Any advice gratefully received!
Budget up to £1 mil.

St Stephens area is beautiful. Nice walk to Canterbury west from there across beautiful field/gardens. South Canterbury is a very nice area with beautiful houses however it is quite a walk to the stations

Thanks so much.

With that budget in Canterbury you can't really go wrong to be honest! Canterbury is lovely and is doing really well. Understandably that is leading to some traffic issues around the ring road/ Sturry road/ Wincheap / New Dover road. So bear that in mind if tempted by New Dover Road although it does have some lovely houses. There has been a lot of development in countryside around Canterbury lately. The UKC end of town seems to be more protected from that due to ancient woodland.

I'd look at houses around the hospital, New Dover Rd area or anywhere near Westgate ( towers and gardens)
St Dunstan's area is lovely, St Stephens OK but don't go as far as Hayles Place.
Avoid Wincheap and Sturry Rd sides of Canterbury

Aylesham is a former mining village and as such I suspect it has its share of social issues. Only been once but it had quite a “left behind” feel.
