£2m for a pokey house on a busy and less than pleasant road. Chancers.

I can’t believe I’m about to type this, but for a 3 bed 3 bath house with garden and off road parking in good cosmetic condition, on the same street as the tube in Wimbledon, that sounds about right.

How to tell you lived in London too long.

IrishMumInLondon2020 · 05/08/2022 17:42

It’s not just about right at all. You can get nicer places in better locations in this area for half the price. I’ve lived here for a long time and know this is priced at least a third over what it should be.

But good luck to them. It’s just an observation. I’m not irked or anything. Just thought it was vaguely amusing.

Off street parking, big garden, near station, good chance of place at Bishop Gilpin - I can see why but it does seem steep for three beds. Why don't you like Alexandra Road? You mean because it's busier than some of the others? It's not that busy really but I agree you could get the same on a less busy road.

SkiingIsHeaven · 05/08/2022 17:53

Crazy but Southerers have to pay these prices.

You get much more for your money in the North but it's not London is it?

I couldn't bring myself to pay that much.

It's a nice house though.

BerylBird · 05/08/2022 17:57

I don't know Wimbledon but looking at the prices of other 3 bed homes in the immediate vicinity, it does look rather expensive.
Maybe it's a divorce and one party has insisted it goes on the market and another doesn't want to sell (friend's mum did this when I was growing up; she got an extra 18 months in the house and eventually moved at a time to suit her and kids, not at her ex's convenience.

Antarcticant · 05/08/2022 17:57

No idea about prices as I'm a northerner, but purely as a house, I like it. The shelving in the living area is done really well.

KosherDill · 05/08/2022 18:25

Love that shelving, the garden & shed.

Wheretheskyisblue · 05/08/2022 18:55

It looks very overpriced to me when you compare it to something like this in the neighbouring road, almost twice the size and much nicer inside which sold for around 200k less

It does seem a bit steep for that road compared to sold prices but it's practically the town centre and has off street parking. I'd happily live on that road - I miss living in Wimbledon!
