How do i get these off the wall?

These had hooks in them, i assume they were for curtain tiebacks. They seem impossible to get off the wall! Any help appreciated

Get a knife or screwdriver behind and then hammer it down and it might loose them. Or is there a screw in the centre that needs undoing?
