Stone resin baths- recommendations please!

We are in the middle of a house refurb which will include redoing a bathroom. We are really tempted by as stone resin bath like the aquaroc or Lusso stone styles, but I don't know if it is too extravagant or if it is worth the extra money. I'd love to hear from anyone who has one and whether they are happy with it, or if they have any recommendations about any suppliers who are less well known. Thanks!

  1. Check your floor will take the weight (incl when full of water and human). We were told that above a certain weight, which would include most of the Lusso ones, the floor would need reinforcing.

  2. Baths with near vertical ends look lovely but are very uncomfortable. Personally I wouldn’t buy a bath I hadn’t sat in for this reason.

  3. Matt finish looks lovely but picks up limescale and grubby marks way more easily than shiny (we have Lusso sinks).

We ended up choosing a bath by Clearwater which is stone resin but I think has a lower stone content than Lusso so weighs less. And that brand was stocked in a showroom near us so I was able to try their models for comfort.

Also have. Clearwater bath, love it. Took me ages to find a free standing bath that had a good back angle that meant you could soak properly

You may find good value here, though if you want something locally produced without the the transport miles, it may be more.

frankly which one do you have? We have the Sontuoso for exactly that reason - good back angle! And works for 6’3 DH and 5’3 me. It’s not as beautiful as some of the egg shaped ones but found it a lot comfier.

Minipie we have the same 🙂. Did you get the stone plug to start with, I had to replace mine with chrome as I kept opening it 🤣🤣

We have two Lusso sinks. They stain easily with water marks and soap and are a nightmare to clean as they suggest not using conventional cleaners. A bath might not get quite as grubby as a sink though!

No problem cleaning the bath so far. Had it a few years now too.

This is all so helpful! Thanks for taking the time to reply. Will definitely check the floor and will look at Clearwater as an alternative. The comments on the Matt finish looking grubby very quickly have put me off a little bit!

The only problem I had was actually seeing the Clearwater baths in person. I had to travel to London to sit in the damned thing before I would commit to buying it. My local stockist did t have the specific bath I wanted to see.

Such a good point. Had assumed they would all be relatively comfortable by design so definitely need to see and sit in one first!

frankly I have a white plug so guess it’s the stone one??

Did you end up buying Lusso or Aquaroc?
