Hi, Some of you may remember my last post about looking into relocating to Gloucestershire. For those that don't. Myself, partner & toddler are looking to relocate from Wales due to o/hs work commitments. He currently has a 2hr daily commute and is finding it too much. Its a hard decision for me personally because i'll be leaving all my family & friends behind so we're trying to make sure we do lots of research before making a final decision on whether we're actually going to go through with the move & more importantly where we're going to move to.
Our top priorities are finding somewhere preferably semi rural (but not essential) with a safe & friendly community where myself & toddler can get out to groups & hopefully make lots of new friends. O/h likes a nice place to eat out occasionally, Plenty of walks & Also a good Equestrian Community/livery yard we could keep a pony.
So far we have narrowed our search down to
Calicot/sudbrook, Newent & Lydney. as these areas have had the most options for houses within our budget of 325k. We have enjoyed visiting each of the areas & feel they have a good mix for the type of lifestyle we're looking for but would still love to hear from people already living there what they think or if you can advise us of any neighbourhoods to avoid. Obviously everyone will have different opinions but we're welcoming any honest pro's & cons/advise you can give us
