Feature wall in bedroom

I'm painting my newly renovated cottage in dulux's cotton white for now. It's less harsh than pure white and seems a softer and clean alternative.

I'm thinking of painting the wall we have our bed on in a F&B soft colour - maybe a hint of sage. Will this look utterly ridiculous do you think?

Personally I bloody hate feature walls. Very 1990/2000s House Doctor. If you like a colour, just paint the room that colour 🤷‍♀️

Agree with this.

One of my neighbours had a feature wall in their bedroom. They painted it white to match the rest of the room before they sold - and that was 4 years ago.

No, it'll look lovely. It's very current, actually, to paint a single wall another colour. The trend to wallpaper a single wall has come back too.

m unless you're thinking if selling in the near future paint it red if that's what YOU like, but a sage woul make it easier to sell!

...and if anyone doesn't like it, & hates bloody feature walls, they can just paint it the same as the other walls IF they buy your cottage!

enjoy decorating your lovely renovated cottage!

Paint it how you'd like. If you're planning to sell soon then bear that in mind, but it's your house to have it decorated now you like.

I like feature walls - we had one in living room of old house and it didn't seem to affect selling it.

Agree with first reply. If 1 feature wall looks great then paint all 4 that colour and it looks 4 times greater.

I'm all for feature walls. If you pick a dark or bold colour it can be overwhelming to have it in the whole room. With a pale sage though I would just paint the whole thing.

It's your house though, so just go for it. If you don't like the feature wall you can just paint the rest of the walls later.
