DIY kitchens query

Hello, me again, with another kitchens query!

Back on DIY kitchens because everyone else except for Wren is working out waaaay to expensive!

I cannot figure out how to add a breakfast bar or complete my island, as there are no base units to do this. Have raised a query with them, but wondered if anyone knew.

Also, I am slightly paranoid about my measurements not being correct....will they swap units after delivery if necessary?!

TIA

As in adding it to the planner? Base units for the island are any of the standard base units, then add a worktop to it.

It says on the website they don't exchange made to measure items such as cabinets, so make sure your dimensions are correct.

Double and triple check your measurements, but what I did was order a few extra of the filler panels. Then if I was a little bit off it wasn’t a big deal for my fitter to add in a bit of panel on the end or whatever. Presumably that only works if you make the units too small rather than too big though!

We have an island and it’s 4 units freestanding in the middle of the floor. Two on each side back to back. We then had some large panel that covers the open sides to finish it off. I’m pretty sure the planner showed me all that though.

Island units are just normal unites - we have a bin unit, a 3 drawer unit and a double pan drawer unit on one side (60cm depth) and 3 reduced depth cupboards on the other side.

And yes, side panels on the ends to neaten the whole thing up.

Ok thanks everyone. This is helpful!

@Mumofboys2006

Are you fitting it yourselves or using a kitchen fitter? If using a fitter, then they should have come around to check your measurements!

if you're fitting it yourself talk to DIY, they're very helpful. Just accurately measure your walls (at least twice) top/middle & bottom!!
