What size kitchen bin does a single person need?

I've seen an 18litre bin online that I quite like for my small kitchen but just wondering if it's too small for one person?

That's fine. You don't need a massive one, because by the time you've taken days to fill it, the thing will stink.

I had a massive tall one in my flat when I moved in (it was already there). Used it once before going out to buy a 10L one. Like PP said, by the time I even got halfway way full, the whole thing stank. It was a waste of the bin bag.

We have a 10 litre inside cupboard bin in a 4 person house. We recycle a lot and probably use 2-3 bin bags a week. 18 litres should be more than enough but it will depend on how much recycling you do and how much convenience food with lots of packaging you buy.
