Dark grey/off-black paint

Has anyone used F&B Railings, or a similar dark colour, in their living room? I love the idea of it in mine- it’s a high-ceilinged good size south-facing room with some lovely Victorian style cornice to set it off- but I’m a little intimidated to go so dark!

you could start with only some of the room? I have seen f&b video about it which was really interesting

I used Railings on my large office, 1 wall in my bedroom and in a hallway, it's a lovely colour but does mark very easily. I had Downpipe in my living/dinning room and it looked fab. Love dark colours.

Yes go for it! We've got Downpipe on the walls, ceiling and stairs going up to our loft - love the dark!

@LillyLeaf that worries me as I have a toddler! Is it the quality of the paint that
makes it mark easily or is it specifically that colour?
@bravotango I looked at downpipe as well but I think I prefer railings out of the two as it’s got a bit more depth of colour. That sounds great though, dark and cosy.

Yes Downpipe is definitely grey - we have shaded white and light grey in our hall (that the loft stairs come off) and it goes with those. There's an Instagram account called since 1859 and I think they've done their downstairs rooms in railings - it looks brill!

@bravotango I’ll have a look! I really like light gray as well, I’m considering it for either the dining room or our bedroom. But I think the living room would look so good in railings.

@bravotango just been on their instagram, how beautiful is their home 😭 my dream house. Feeling very inspired by Railings right now! Might even have to copy them by adding some red… a nice red feature chair maybe

We have Off Black and it's lovely. No hint of blue which I found Railings to have

@dolphinsarentcommon I’m not normally a fan of blue at all but I like the fact that in Railings it adds a bit of depth. Might get a tester pot of a black shade though, see if I still like the darkness without the hint of blue.
