Coloured grout

We are mid bathroom refurbishment. Tiler has asked if we want white or grey grout. We've never had coloured grout before. I'm very tempted to go with grey as white always seems to discolour easily - especially in the shower. But was wondering how hardy grey grout is? Eg can you spray mould remover on it without it bleaching the colour. Does it discolour in general much the same as white? Anyone got coloured grout and regretted it?

We had beige tiles a few years ago (when they were in fashion!) and had matching grout, it's the best thing ever, much easier to keep clean. I'd go with the grey.

Depends on the colour of tile.
We've used grey grout in the kitchen - I was initially slightly worried as only ever done white before but it looks brilliant. We have no problem with it discolouring and had it for 2 years now. And you're right, it doesn't show stains quite as badly.

We have grey now, having had white before I'm so happy with these. It must have been here 3+ years and looks good as new.

I'd not use white again ideally.

We've got grey and it's lovely. I'll not have white again!

We've just had our bathroom done and they used grey grout, it's quite a pale grey but looks so much better than our old tiles with white grout.

We have grey grout, the same shade on floor and walls. It unites the black floor tiles and white wall tiles. Looks great.

(As a side note they also put in kitchen splash backs in the same material as the countertops and I've never been more grateful... so easy to clean.)

I’ve seen a bathroom that had coloured grout, it was dark charcoal grey. It looked fabulous. So, so much better then white grout.

I wish I could do this but I rent, so I can’t. If I could I would never have white grout again.

Go for it 😊

Looks like a unanimous vote for grey so far then! Thank you everyone. The tiles are white with grey marbling and the cabinets for the wash basin and toilet are also grey.

Definitely go with grey. We have light grey with our bathroom tiles and it gives a much more uniform effect and doesn't discolour.
