Kitchen countertop

I had a kitchen fitted 7 years ago with a laminate top. Its got bashed and chipped at edges when people have put plates in drawer.Looking to replace countertop. I like the idea of something classy and hard wearing like quartz. We only have a small kitchen but quoted £2900 for materials and fitting of mid price quartz. Seems expensive but am I being unrealistic? Am I silly for going for quartz?

We had about 5m of granite fitted and it was about £3000. Sounds like a reasonable quote to me.

I would love quartz too - and am
hoping it will fit into the budget.

We’re having quartz and it’s about 3,500 I think including cutting out shapes for sink etc. That is for about 8m ish.

Don’t know current prices, but we got a Dekton worktop when we did ours last year and it has been great. Totally heatproof and stainproof.

I got about 7 metres of quartz for £3k recently. It’s worth the expense. I shopped around and went direct to a local supplier.

Our quartz was £3000. There’s a lot of worktop and it’s wider than usual. Bought from a local supplier too.

We got just over 7.5m of Silestone fitted for £3200 last year.

Alfierabbit · 19/07/2022 16:32

Hi is that price including fitting?

Hi OP! I'm thinking about getting quartz countertops too, from Caesarstone. How did your installation go? I've been hearing about many good things about it but I haven't had any experience with it so I'm not really sure about it. Did it go well? I read that it can be hard to install sometimes.
