Painting my HMKOC (Handmade Kitchens of Christchurch) Kitchen

Those of you who have got HMKOC I wondered if you could give me some advice about painting it: namely did you varnish or oil the inside of the units and what type of paint did you use on the outside? I’m thinking of Little Greene Paint Intelligent Satinwood but keen to hear experiences! Many thanks in advance.

I'm trying to work out how to paint ours when it arrives! I have 2 weeks off in February and hoping that's enough time if we both do it!
What primer and paint do people use for farrow and ball?

@loobyloz excuse the mess as working today. It’s not 100 % finished yet, 6 months on, but joiner coming next week to finish final bits. Considering painting the top drawers green too but initially wanted a bit of contrast.

Did anybody take the doors off to paint them? I’m painting ours myself (partly excited, mostly scared of messing it up and too broke after our extension to pay anybody else to do it) and I’m worried that if I take the doors off they’ll go back on like a row of broken teeth.

@JackyinaTracky we didn’t take the doors off and I just taped/sanded any stray paint off the hinges. The doors for the fridge and the freezer cabinets were separate so painted those off and will install them when we put the fridge and freezer in place.

Do people paint the whole door (including inside?

Here's some pics of our HMKOC kitchen which I painted myself (F&B 'Oval Room Blue'/Craig & Rose 'Pale Oak'). We only have six doors - plus a huge vintage larder - as ours has mainly drawers. I removed the drawers to paint but not the doors.

We've still not fitted kickbacks after four years 🙄
