Room needs:

floorboards restored (they're good, wide, boards with very few gaps but are Victorian and have that black stuff on them)
Walls re plastered
Artex on ceiling either removed or skimmed over (haven't checked yet whether it's old enough to need removing)
Walls and ceiling painted

I'm new to this and have no idea what sequence things need to be done!

Electrics and plumbing, if any are needed, first.

Then ceiling and plastering (usually one job unless you need
to split fit for financial reasons.

Floor once the new plaster is touch dry and the dust won’t stick. (couple of days at most)

Thanks. I'm glad I asked; sanding floorboards seems such a grimy job I'd have probably got it wrong and done that first.
