Anyone who knows Driffield?

Hi,
My husband and I are currently in the process of securing our first mortgage. We have three children aged 5 and under. We currently live in South Yorkshire but want to move away.
We have visited Driffield and we really like it and can really get a lot for our money there. I have seen a property in the south of the town. It is really big, very competitively priced and would be perfect for us.
The problem is, that the house next door is also up for sale, is equally big and well priced.
Why might two houses come up for sale in the same street and neither have sold?
Is there something I’m missing?
Is the South of Driffield a bit of a no go area or is it just because of the new builds currently going up in the town and people preferring brand new?

yes, it is a tiny village in Gloucestershire.
Which regularly got tourists and lorry drivers who had put 'Driffield' into their sat nav, and actually wanted to be in Yorkshire
😂

Sorry OP, couldn't resist.

I know Driffield reasonably well and can't think of a particular problem that might have led to two house on the same road not selling. There has been a lot of new building in the town recently so it might just been that there's a lot of availability locally.

In lots of ways it's a great area to live - busy, thriving town, close to the coast, easy access to York and house prices are sensible. There is only one secondary school in the town though; so if the school is not the right one for your children you might have to travel quite a long way to find an alternative.

Thank you! This sets my mind at rest. We’ve waited and saved for so long to be able to buy a home that I think I’m panicking a little
