Normal not to get a ‘report of good title?’

Just reading another thread about exchange and contracts.

Is it normal not to get a report of good title? Is that a Scottish thing maybe?

We moved in a few weeks ago. We used a well established local solicitors, and a very experienced solicitor.

Our solicitor forwarded onto us the documents he obtained (property info forms, guarantees etc). He drew our attention to a boundary issue and another issue via emails. He forwarded on the vendor’s solicitor’s email responses to enquiries.

But we didn’t actually get a report of good title? 🤔 He asked us when we wanted to exchange and I said, oh that must mean you’re happy with everything then, and he said yes - but I didn’t get a piece of paper to say so?

Is this normal?

I’ve bought and sold a few houses and I’ve never heard of this.
