Wanstead - is the A12 too loud / cause too much pollution? Which part best?

We’re considering a move to Wanstead but, when walking around the flats, realised how loud the A12 is! Does it bother you if you live there?

And I’m curious about different parts also. We saw a house near Aldersbrook, but that’s not near the rest of Wanstead, although I really liked it.

Also, what are secondary schools like? Where I live now (a London area I can’t afford anymore!), there’s an exodus before secondary and I’m looking for a new area to really put down roots and stay.

Half a mile would be my absolute minimum distance from the A12 (or A406).
