If you knew someone who was looking for the following from a London neighbourhood, where would you suggest?

-Family friendly (so decent schools, lots of kids for theirs to befriend, activities like Beavers, Brownies or whatever)
-A community feel
-Pretty Victorian houses (they’re not from the uk are delighted by English Victorian architecture - those houses actually feel pretty pokey to me! But they like em :) )
-People who work in a similar field - the creative industries - nearby. This is important to them
-Access to green spaces and maybe sporty stuff

Where would you suggest? I think their budget is around £900k but they are expecting a flat and not a house, which means they can live in most areas they choose and the location is more important than the size of the property. They will rent first and are expecting to pay about £3000 per month.

Stoke Newington

Ha that’s where I initially suggested! But then I thought: maybe Stoke Newington is full of bankers now!

Teddington, Twickenham, Ham, north Kingston?

DaisyDando · 24/06/2022 18:22

Crouch End.

calmlakes · 24/06/2022 18:22

I think crouch end and muswell hill are nice arty family areas.
But haven't lived in London for ages so not sure on their costs anymore.

RodiganReed · 24/06/2022 18:25

Crouch End, it's known for literally all those things

urbanbuddha · 24/06/2022 18:25

Brockley.

Bodgejobvendors · 24/06/2022 18:26

Stoke Newington. Although it will definitely be a flat. Head to Walthamstow or Leyton if they want more space and fewer bankers.

Clymene · 24/06/2022 18:27

No, Stokie is still not full of bankers. I'd say there, Crouch End, Herne Hill, Brixton, Walthamstow, Acton

A580Hojas · 24/06/2022 18:30

Crystal Palace without a doubt.

Cyberworrier · 24/06/2022 18:30

Brockley, Walthamstow, around West Norwood

tobee · 24/06/2022 18:32

Wimbledon/Earlsfield/Southfield/Raynes Park

Justdiscovered · 24/06/2022 18:33

Chiswick. Pricey but ticks all the boxes lots of media types / tv and basically full of families and Victorian houses

3peassuit · 24/06/2022 18:34

Chiswick, Ealing, Crouch End, Brixton.

GearBots · 24/06/2022 18:35

Another vote for Crystal Palace

tobee · 24/06/2022 18:38

Richmond at a push.
But also Highgate/Hampstead/East Finchley

BlackLambAndGreyFalcon · 24/06/2022 18:43

Blackheath

LittleBoPeep345 · 24/06/2022 18:47

Wandsworth.

verytired42 · 24/06/2022 18:48

Forest Hill or as others have said, Crystal Palace. Loads of creative professionals and artists live there.

VeryQuaintIrene · 24/06/2022 18:52

Ealing?

Delphigirl · 24/06/2022 18:54

Chiswick
queens park

WhatsHoppening · 24/06/2022 18:56

another vote for Crystal Palace! We lived there until we moved to a similar area near Manchester! Loved it!

Charley50 · 24/06/2022 18:56

Stoke Newington, Crouch End or Walthamstow are all conspicuously creative areas.

Bouledeneige · 24/06/2022 20:01

Muswell Hill and Crouch End

banhmi · 24/06/2022 20:58

Brockley has already been mentioned, but also Ladywell and Telegraph Hill/Nunhead.
