does anyone know if granite worktops can be cut to a new shape? we're moving to a house with granite worktops but would like to install a belfast sink if possible, so would need sink hole reshaping/ enlarging

They can be cut but I think it'd need to be removed & cut off-site then reinstalled. Your cutting stone, I think it needs one of those systems where water is sprayed as it's drilled by machine

thank you - we did think this might be the case

We got a local monumental mason to cut ours - most of the granite people just want to sell you granite band didn’t want to quote
it looks fab by the way

Entirely possible BUT the stone can sometimes break when it’s removed, rendering the whole piece useless.
