Rewire- what to ask the electrician

We’ve just had a quote for a full Rewire of a 3 bed semi. it got where we are putting new lights and switches. And then a number at the end for total cost of materials and labour.

im going to also ask

• what condition the house should be in before they start, ie floor coverings removed and anything else


• what level of making good this includes


• a separation of the quote between materials and labour


• does this include rubbish removal


• what type of sockets/ switches

is there anything else?

Have a think about any extras. Do you have or want extractor fans, outside lights/security lights, a Ring doorbell, more switches or fittings, for example?

Level of making good is a good question to ask, also how they will protect your stuff. And how long it will take.

We supplied switches ourselves for ours.

You might want to specify some sockets being those that have USB chargers in as well? They're the same size as standard sockets, but very useful in the right places.
