Anyone else being evicted and struggling to find a new property?

We have been served section 21 but not because they want to sell (no sign up etc). Suspect it's to cash in on rising London rents as we have been in this house for 4 years.

Finding a new home is becoming a nightmare. For example I had been waiting for a call back about arranging a viewing on a house; two days later I called back to give them a nudge and someone had PAID THE DEPOSIT over the phone without even viewing! It's crazy out here... anyone else in the same boat ?

Yes. Same issue here, our landlord is selling after 10 years.

I had two viewings lined up over the weekend. Had phone calls on Friday afternoon, one had gone to someone who didn't want to view so had paid the deposit, and the other to someone who offered more per month than the advertised price. It's mental.

The council won't help me (wait lists for houses here are 5 years+) plus they tell me not to leave the property when my notice period is up, as if that's going to help me attract a landlord.

Hoping something works out for you!

It's so stressful isn't it . We have a dog as well which is an instant no from most landlords in this market. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you too.

Yes we have a cat so having exactly the same issues as you it sounds like!

We're limited in where we can move to (kids schools are here-don't want to move them if I can help it, plus access to the station as I work in London) but sadly I think i'm going to have to look further afield.
