How to cover these ?

Can anyone recommend something to hide these marks ? Joiner finished panelling and stairs, but left lots of these marks which I’d like to hide - there are lots of „oak pens“ on Amazon but they all look pretty rubbish. Anyone ?

Do you have some scrap wood? I use either a cut Brazil nut or walnut and the natural oils blend in the pale.
what has the joiner said?

What are the the marks made of? Is it some sort of filler? You can get wood coloured polish for tables. Maybe a little of that in the right colour rubbed in would work?

Osmo oil?

Yes, it’s wood filler - why he didn’t use an oak coloured one I don’t know. It’s part of a huge renovation so I’m only now getting to this after it was completed late last year.

thank you, can you elaborate ? What would you do with the scrap wood to ensure the oil sinks in ?

Get an almond and rub it over. The nut oil usually helps scratches and marks blend in. Not sure if it'll cover filler though.

Scrap wood was just to see what the nut would do to the wood rather than the filler. I suppose you could try a hidden area to test.
