Moving to Godalming (near Guildford) - what's it like living there?

Just bought a place in Godalming and moving there shortly. I don't know anyone there and not sure how easy it is to make new friends there?

I'm in my late 30s and just broke up with my long-term partner so taking a break from relationships :) Thinking it's a small town so might feel a bit lonely there though.

Any feedback on the town and suggestions on meeting people there?
Any interesting social activities I could take part in?
