Engineered redwood or accoya?

We're having our Edwardian sash windows replaced with double glazing, and having to decide between engineered redwood and accoya. Does anyone have experience of this? The price difference is a bit eye widening (around £1800), but the whole cost is crazy anyway. The accoya comes with a 50 year warranty and the redwood 30 year, but in reality not sure any company is guaranteed to be around after that length of time. We intend to stay in this house forever (50 years!).

Thank you 😊

Anyone? @PigletJohn? Any advice gratefully received! We've done a lot of online research but just can't decide between the two.

from what I hear, the accoya treatment is extremely effective and long lived

I think it will be much better than redwood

but I have no personal experience of it.

i think you will need a porous paint system designed for outdoor jpinery to let it breathe as the weather changes. I expect the manufacturers will have a recommendation.

I have known ordinary pine joinery last over a hundred years if reasonably protected from the weather and regularly painted

or far less if not.
