Opinions on roof work

We are having some repairs done on our roof. There is a double extension (which was built quite recently and its roof is in good condition, so the work relates to the roof of the original house only). Where the roof of the original house meets the extension roof, they have used lead tiles rather than matching the rest of the roof. They said this was the only option due to the spacing between the tiles. Does this seem right? It certainly doesn't look great.

Looks ok to me - presumably the join is too wide for the tiles used on the rest of the roof? Hopefully someone who knows more than me will comment.

They should have just carried on tiling from the old tiles to the outside edge, then cut each tile on the gable. I’ve never seen that done before. Are both sides of the roof inline/ flat with each other ?

I had had this on a u shaped house once ( mine ). Built an extension in the middle And the tile bond didn’t match so had to take one side off and hutch the tiles over about half a tile and recut the ends , was a bit more work but everything looked right and interlocked.

To me it it looks like you now have a gap in your roof with bits of lead over them instead of the tiles being interlocked properly and water tight/ maintenance free

i wouldnt be happy with that.

What was there before?

Thanks for the responses, we have queried it with the roofing guy.
