Show me your utility room

Just moved into a new house and we have a sort of utility annex, I suppose. It’s a small room off the back of the kitchen, French doors at the end to get to the garden, window on the right.

It currently houses the boiler cupboard and the washing machine and drier. We need some sort of storage for laundry stuff, kids’ stuff (bags, art bits), seasonal things eg muddy boots in winter / sun stuff in summer.

Please inspire me! Trying to work out how to be most efficient with the space…

Anyone…? Even just a recommendation for a supplier of suitable cupboards, that you’ve used, for example?

We were going to use howdens for cabinets. But joiner boxed in boiler and put a big door on to make an airing cupboard. Big sink with cupboard above.

I cannot inspire you as it's an embarrassment, sorry.

We have two big cupboards above the washer and dryer and a worktop over the machines. We have one tall cupboard for the ironing board and brushes. On the other wall we have hooks for coats and bags.

We used Ikea Metod kitchen cabinets - 2 low cupboards with a sink above, a narrow (40cm) set of drawers of different depths, one tall cupboard and a few wall cupboards... It's not quite finished in this photo, but you get the idea.

This is ours. Very much a work in progress. Units are from DIY kitchens. Have a boiler cupboard, sink, space for the washer and dryer, a bin unit, drawers, broom cupboard and then just some standard cupboard units. We will also have a pulley maid fitted to the ceiling and a peg board for bits and bobs. No radiator, just a plinth heater and the spots are on sensors so no light switch either.

This is mine; the units are from DIY kitchens. The tall cupboard houses the washing machine and dryer stacked. Next to that is the broom cupboard with laundry chute into the top. The dolly maid is wonderful on the ceiling.
There isn't a window or outside door just the downstairs toilet off.

We recycled the (very) old kitchen units that we were removing for one wall. Base we have a set of drawers then washing machine, above is 2 wall units, then to the side is a fridge freezer. On the other wall is an mdf " unit" that our joiner did. It has a shelf along the top for shoes, hooks underneath for coats, then a tall radiator is mounted on the end which helps save space. Then we added a small shoe cupboard beneath.

We recycled too, as the utility room was added when we did a kitchen refurb. It's a very small galley space so blank wall on one side, with a high level shelf and a bar attached to the ceiling where I can hang wetsuits to dry. The other side has the old butlers sink and wooden worktop from the kitchen. At the moment it's just the under-sink cupboard and shelves under the worktop to either side. There are also wall shelves over one end for the microwave, breadmaker and general storage. Then against the back wall there's the free standing fridge-freezer from the old kitchen.

The washing machine is in a cupboard upstairs and that's where it's staying, but there's space under the worktop if future residents want a more conventional set-up. I plan to slot an undercounter fridge in there when the too-big FF finally dies, and add more shelves across the back wall.
