Not very familiar with this kind of stuff. Having three bathrooms redone by a fitter who a friend used some time back. Going to pay him a deposit. Should he and I be signing some kind of contract? He's provided quotes, but what is to stop him from running off with my money? What should I ensure I have to cover myself in the event he doesn't carry out the work etc?
