Can anyone recommend a decent shower tray for an en suite?

We are installing an en suite to our bedroom next month, can anyone suggest a good company for shower trays and what I should bear in mind when purchasing one? Total newbie here to renovations - thank you for any advice you can impart.

They are all pretty similar nowdays. The main reason they fail is poor installation. Are you getting a standard tray or a wetroom floor one?

The main possible issue I've come across is that you should avoid getting a tray with a waste positioned where it will clash with a floor joist. If this happens then the only way to fit the tray flat on the floor would be to modify the floor structure to accommodate the waste, and to be honest I wouldn't trust a bathroom installer to do that.

The shower in our bathroom has a step up into it and an ugly plinth kit, because the previous people bought any old shower tray then fitted it the easiest, cheapest way. When we get it redone I'll ask the installer to source a suitable tray and make it very clear that fitting it flat on the floor is a key requirement.

We got a "Mira flight safe" which has a grippy surface but still easy to clean. Much better then the shiny ones that sometimes get slippery if you use certain products.
Also bin the waste that's supplied and get a macalpine one which is much better quality.
You can get all the shapes and sizes, we got 900x1200mm which is ample.

Thank you, this is all very useful. I think we could go for either the standard tray or wet room floor @Geneticsbunny but I honestly have no idea what is the best. Definitely want something safe and non slip, and easy to clean.

Second Mira. Like @johnd2 we got the ‘textured’ surface.
its a resin one. Heavy , good quality, comes with its own trap.
not cheap, around £200 for 900x900 inc delivery.
bought through Screwfix, delivered by Mira direct.

Sorry to resurrect this thread! What are the advantages of resin over stone please for shower trays?

the resin/ stone are the same thing....just dont get plastic as it will crack at some point and go yellow....yuk....our resin one still cracked after a few months so got a replacement from company so dont get a cheap one....so we had to faff and refit the doors etc...and put timber underneath to support it every 20cm so now all solid.
