John Lewis Kitchens

I mean John Lewis the chain store as opposed to John Lewis of Hungerford….(are they connected? I’m not sure….)
anyway, has anyone used them before to design/fit kitchen? I’ve used JL for fitted wardrobes and was impressed with them but this is a bigger investment so keen to sense check. Also interested in how they compare price-wise with the likes of Magnet/Howden/Wren etc? Any views?

We got a quote from John Lewis - it was ridiculously expensive, twice the cost of Magnet who were the next expensive. Four times as expensive as Howdens. We went with a local independent place in the end

Oh interesting (and disappointing!). Our “slide-robe” style fitted wardrobes were way cheaper from John Lewis than some of the quotes we had and the quality and service was great…I was hoping that would apply to their kitchens but unfortunately I dont have £££ to spare ☹️

I was really shocked! I don't know if it was the nature of what we wanted so it might not apply to you but I genuinely thought I had misheard when the salesman gave me the figure

We got a John Lewis kitchen once and it did stand the test of time and still look good 10 plus years later. Though they are pricy so it all depends on your budget and other quotes you can get

Do they do units only? I wonder if it is the fitting that is £££££

We’re just in the process of getting quotes after the designer has been out to help with the design. Yes it is more expensive than Magnet, Wren, IKEA but for us we wanted to have quality and the service in case anything went wrong.
I know other who have had great kitchens and experience with some of the other retailers and DIY kitchens also gets great reviews.
I am expecting the quote in the next day or so, maybe once the final figure comes through I might change my mind but hopefully not!

@SausageDogMum73 keep me posted!

So we got the designs and quote and it’s around what we expected it would be and the design is better than I had hoped. Now back to sort the final touches. Well worth it so far!

NewHouseNewMe · 26/05/2022 21:25

John Lewis has a 22 week lead time right now and I think it was linked to supply rather than fitting. That’s pretty outrageous..

SausageDogMum73 · 26/05/2022 23:17

There is around a 5 month wait time but other places were quoting the same if we wanted them to fit.

I have a JL kitchen; 23 years later and it's very dated but still in excellent physical condition.

mobear · 27/05/2022 00:26

I have a 12 year old John Lewis kitchen and it still looks good. It was one of their cheaper ranges too.

LoveItOrListIt · 27/05/2022 16:15

Does twice the cost of magnet and 4 x the cost of howdens sound about right?
