My partner wants to use Lakeland paints because of eco reasons. Are they any good? We need to paint an entire house inc ceilings.

Many thanks

I've used them a fair bit and been pleased with the results. I'm not 100% sure how very eco-friendly they are in terms of wider environmental impact, but they're great if like me you get horrible headaches & sickness from regular paint even now it's supposedly all low VOC.

My new favourite though is the claypaint from Earthborn - also zero smell and the most lovely finish / really does only need one coat IME.

Could I ask how do Lakeland claypaints compare with Earthborn? I've only used the latter, and though I love it, the range is a bit limited, and I'd like some colours Earthborn don't have but Lakeland does.

I haven't used the Lakeland claypaint I"m afraid Mongoose, only the matt wall paint (I think the clay paint is new?) and then eggshell / gloss etc for woodwork

I haven't tried Lakeland but did a bit of research into lower VOC paints recently as have been decorating :)

Victory Colours are very good, less than 1g/L VOC and asthma friendly etc. Earthborn are virtually VOC free, but not sure on exact numbers. Little Greene are 2g/L VOC. Farrow and Ball is around 4 to 6 g/L VOC. Dulux regular matt is surprisingly low too, around 1g/L VOC, and Crown do breath easy range too which is low VOC, not sure how child and allergy friendly they are though.

Hope that helps give you some ideas for other companies to check out :)
