For years, (literally), whenever I've come across an interesting thread on house stuff, there you are, tagged and willingly giving free advice, looking at photos, sorting out issues.

I occasionally think as I am looking at my own house,
" I'm a bit concerned/puzzled about x," but then I tell myself
"oh well, even if x happens, I can always try tagging PigletJohn" hahah.

Yes!! Thanks for starting this, OP - I 100% agree. He's helped me out several times, both directly and indirectly.

I've often thought that if pigletjohn were to offer some kind of subscription service where you paid a small amount each month for access to advice, I'd be a very willing customer. But he just does it out of the goodness of his heart anyway. Thank you for all that you do, @pigletjohn!

What a great idea for a thread, and I agree he should be paid and here's to another 10 years of his advice! I can't even imagine how many people he has given confidence and hope with his patient and clear advice.

I totally agree.

I hate, hate, hate, having house issues but hate even more how often I am patronised when asking local tradespeople for help.

Whenever @Pigletjohn gets called upon (s)he swoops in and dispenses great advice and explains issues perfectly. I would love to know where that breadth of knowledge comes from and like a PP would happily pay a monthly subscription fee to sign up to a PIgletjohn Advice line.

adding my thanks and appreciation! can't count the number of things I've taken PJ advice on. painting equipment to get a professional finish a big one, everything looks amazing and the gear's lasted us years so far 🙌
