Lost job just before contracts signed

In the middle of buying my first house. I’ve just been told I’ve been made redundant and will be paid until the end of June. I’ve also been lucky enough to have been looking for a new job and have been offered a higher paid job than I’m currently in starting at the same date.

I know I need to tell my lender. Will this stop us buying the house? Or delay things. I feel sick that it could go wrong this late in the game. 😭

If you have contract etc for your new job you should be fine. You should carefully check paperwork etc as you may need to inform lender about change of circumstances.

When DS was buying 3 years ago, he changed jobs during the mortgage process. His broker advised mortgage company and it wasn't a problem. Lender was Nationwide. Just needed sight of his new contract. Didn't hold up the process either.
